Vanessa or Vanespa as she is known around the store has got this cool new Vespa ride. She’s got it all logo’d up via our very cool friends at the globe. Check it out in our gallery page. Just gotta work out how to take those restrictors off so we can squeeze an extra 20kms/hr out of it.

A big congrats to our own Vanessa on winning the 2008 WA Latte Art Challenge. Is was a fun kind of comp where a whole stack of local enthusiasts and industry professionals tried to pull out the best latte art they could with two attempts. Vanessa ended up winning the title with a smashing rosetta. Well done Ness from all your family here at Epic!

Epic veteran Megan Aguero and her boyfriend Adam got engaged recently and it is the talk of the store at the moment. A big congrats to you guys from all of us and we look forward to hearing all about the planning of the big day (nice rock too Adam, well done son!). We can possibly give you the morning off for your honeymoon Megs (people have to have their coffee you know), but be back by 11.30!

During March, the City of Perth is hosting a food and wine festival. We at Epic will be joining in the fun with mini coffee workshops. Espresso Ninja, for those wanting an introduction to specialty coffee and Latte Art hosted by Megan Aguero, the current WA Latte Art Champion. The workshops run for an hour and a half and cost $85, they will be run throughout the month of March on most Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. In January 2008 the Epic Barista School is launching a brand new workshop: Advanced Barista Technique!! We’ll take you to a whole new level in your coffee making journey, from consolidating previous training, to advancing your palate through comparative cupping. Workshops will be small in number of attendees, and intense in content. ‘Espresso Basics’ is a pre-req.
